Happy Sunday

It’s happy Sunday one because we turned the clocks back last night and two because I have completed my project that was originally my first project of the year. Oh well better late than never.

Remember my tired and dated French bureau?

Well my project has finally been completed and I am loving the final outcome.

Santa had brought me a new tool that I was able to use for this particular piece in order to reach those hard to reach places.

It wasn’t really  first on my wish list for Santa but, it did come in handy.

Prep prep prep…Although looks like I need some prepping too..

As you can see from this angle the inside of this piece is made with all real wood. Not held together by particular board. Do you know what the inside of your bureau is made of? Chances are if it was made today there is particular board in there…just don’t make them like they use to.

Darling French style legs needed to be brought to life.

A little help from my Benjamin.

Now the legs are accented with distressed gold highlightlights.

I left the finished look with two different tones for a more aged look.

Original hardware now shines after a little sanding and buffing.

She is elegantly and waiting at Acushnet River Antiques.

Come find me!
